This piece got me good. Your memoir posts are so raw that sometimes commenting on them feels disrespectful, but once again the way you present the simple catch-22 in your relationship with your mama has moved me to tears. There’s something about becoming a mother that starts to pare away at the list of excuses we’re able to make for our parents...

Thanks for reading, love. I always encourage comments regardless of the content I publish. The memoir pieces tend to be on the heavier side, but I share to connect with others and commenting is just one facet of that.

Oof, yes. I felt such a huge perspective shift especially in the early days of postpartum. I've come back around now, back to empathy, but I think the journey through was important to me understanding my mother and more importantly, myself as a mother.
