A look into my gratitude practice (and why it needs to change)

At the end of January, I asked a friend if she wanted to do a daily gratitude list with me. She said yes so every day we’ve been going into a Google doc and sharing the things we were grateful for that day. It’s been healing, eye-opening, and sometimes surprisingly challenging. When I was sick and overstimulated in Michigan I had a few days where I really struggled to find things to be grateful for. This practice has helped me really look for the things that matter, the little and the big things. It made me realize that maybe I’ve been doing this whole gratitude thing all wrong, or at least somewhat wrong, but I’ll get to that in a moment.
